Profile of the performer Djur Djura: originally DjurDjura is a name of an high-mountainous area in Algeria. In 1976 this name was taken for a trio of sisters from Kabylie (Algeria) Their names Djourha, Fatima and Djamila, where Djourha (Djura Abouda) an elder from them, who is vocalist and a main songwriter also. She has mixed traditional Berber folk melodies with her poetry about the struggle of women in oppressive societies. DjurDjura's slogan was "We sing aloud what our mothers hummed under their breath" Since 1986 a name DJUR DJURA started used as a stage name of Djourha only, which a long time live and work in France.
